Love the idea of using sofa seating in a dining area.  It’s pleasantly unexpected and helps create a comfortable casual feel:

    I love, love, lovee this as well! You’re right, I think it really does balance out the feel of the space; the stiffness of the chairs are countered nicely with the softness of the couch.
