Fall/Winter Wardrobe Shopping List

We’ve been officially in Fall for a few weeks now and as is typical for sunny SoCal it’s still quite warm over here.  As I await the cooler weather I’ve been shopping for a few items to add to my wardrobe with the help of my Pinterest boards. When I pin images, I do it quickly and don’t really think too much about it, just whatever I’m instinctively drawn to, and so it’s interesting to go back and take a closer look at what I’ve pinned and take notice of similarities among my pins. I’ve used those similarities as cues to zone in on my style and come up with a list of what pieces I want to add to my wardrobe. I’ve found that by focusing my shopping  with a list, I’m less likely to get overwhelmed and frustrated and less likely to be tempted to buy things I’ll hardly wear and I’ll eventually have to get rid of because they’ve become clutter in my closet.

I haven’t really shopped for myself in awhile so my list includes classics that I’ve been needing to either add or update.  Here’s part of my ‘To Buy’ list (I’ll share the other part tomorrow!):

A classic trench coat Black skinnies (any recommendations for a flattering pair?)Grey skinniesA colorful printed scarf or two

Thin solid sweaters in neutral colorsA leopard scarf

Lots of cozy and chunky sweatersFlat riding boots -any recommendations? I’m looking for a pair that is high quality, comfortable, and fits my thin calves (I hate when there’s a huge gap). Currently considering these, these, and these.

So far I’ve crossed off classic trench and colorful scarf off my list with this and this.

What pieces have you recently added or plan to your wardrobe? Do you make a list of what you want you want to look for before you go shopping?
