Irene’s Colorful Abode
My friend Irene‘s beautiful SoCal home was featured on Apartment Therapy this week! If you haven’t seen the tour yet, you’re gonna love it. I’ve had the pleasure of stepping foot inside her home and it really is as fun and welcoming as the photos show (possibly even more so!). This girl sure knows how to effectively bring together multiple colors, textures and patterns. She’s one talented lady!
View the full tour here and come back here tomorrow for a How I Organize post featuring Irene!

Big Colorful Art
I love the impact a big colorful piece of abstract art makes in a space:

I’m planning to add one in my living room right above my sofa. I’ll be flexing my artistic skills and painting it myself. Should be fun, I’ll let you know how it turns out!

Yellow Headboards
Yellow helps create the effect of a cheerful bright space, even if it’s grey and gloomy outside. These sunny yellow headboards do just that in these beautiful bedrooms:

Moroccan Rugs
On my wishlist for my home is a Moroccan rug. They add so much beautiful texture to a space and help create a comfy casual chic vibe. Especially love the deep pile ones – they look so incredibly soft and wonderful for walking barefoot on.

A lovely little nightstand
Two beautiful bedrooms – both with dark walls, white sheets, a touch of color, and that elegant white lacquered boudoir end table with lucite and nickel accents:
End table is from the Jonathan Adler Channing collection. Most of us would consider it pricey -if you know of a similar looking one that’s less expensive, be sure to share it with us in the comments section!

Jacqui Getty’s Hollywood Home
Just had a chance to flip through my copy of the latest issue of C Magazine and was delighted to see featured this beautiful Hollywood Hills home. Especially loving the gorgeous outdoor living area and the living room with big windows and views of the green garden. I think they shall be the newest additions to my dream home inspiration file.

Good Morning
Hello all! Did you have a good weekend? My sister’s wedding turned out beautifully and we all had a wonderful time! I’ll share a few pictures once we get them from the photographer

Isn’t this bedroom lovely? So simple and serene. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Love that the blue patterned pillows and soft throw a bit of beautiful color.

Happy Earth Day
For a happy way to end the week and celebrate Earth Day, I thought I’d post this beautiful bedroom by Tobi Fairly, which most people wouldn’t guess is an earth-friendly design. The cheerful tangerine and turquoise color palette really makes the room and dispells the idea that green decor is necessarily dull.

Most of the fabrics used throughout the room are organic cotton, many of the pieces are vintage or recycled, and the paint on the furntiure, accessories and walls are low-VOC. For detailed information on how the room is eco-friendly, click on over to Traditional Home.
