How Monika Organizes Her Jewels & Perfumes

Today I’m delighted to bring to you a new How I Organize post! Shop owner and lifestyle blogger Monika Hibbs (who just became a mom to a sweet baby boy!), gives us a look at how she beautifully organizes her jewelry and collection of perfumes:

HowMonikaOrganizesHerJewels&Perfumes-AriannaBelleBlog

I like to have most of my everyday jewelry in place, ready for me to quickly pick up and go! Having all those jewels organized on my side table along side my perfume is perfect!  The silver tray is from The Cross Design, one of my favorite home décor stores in Yale Town, Vancouver. The Stag Head jewelry holder, which holds my bracelets is from Front & Company in Vancouver.

For pieces that I only take out for special occasions I like to have them all wrapped up in the boxes they came in. I laugh, because my husband thinks I’m a horder- whereas I like the organization of each piece in it’s place! Takes up a little bit more room, but those boxes are just too nice to throw away!

Picks from Zara Home

Back when I was studying abroad in Spain, I remember walking into a Zara Home store and feeling like a kid in a candy store. There were so many lovely decor items everywhere I turned. I was sad to find out though that there were no Zara Home locations in the US, and while that’s still the case, as of this month the line is now available online. I browsed the selection this morning, and found several great trays, boxes, bins and baskets for beautifully organizing the home:

1-phoebe wardrobe box, 2-beny tray, 3-nadia baskets, 4-rato tray, 5-frank tray, 6-lilli box, 7-ludwig baskets, 8-jens basket, 9-zafit tray, 10-jack box, 11-lisbeth basket

Short on Space?

Do like Kelly and use a hanging organizer like this one:

The pockets are a good size for jewelry and other small accessories and they’re clear so you can quickly see what you have. Overall it takes up little room – perfect for small spaces!

Repurposed: Dessert Stand

Why not re-purpose a tiered dessert tray or cake stand and use it in the vanity?  It can serve as a creative way to hold and display jewelry, accessories, perfume and/or makeup:

What do you think, would you try this idea?

Beautifully Organized Space: Accessories Closet

Check out this accessories closet:

Beautifully organized by Flavia of Lulu Abroad, who lined up her shoes on shelves by type, hung belts on a row of hooks, used frames for sunglasses and jewelry, and cubbies for handbags.

Functional and looks great too.  Nicely done!

Beautifully Organized: Bracelets

When it comes to organizing bracelets,  a good option for those who like to have things put away out-of-sight, is to dedicate a portion of a drawer to them and use organizers to keep things separated and neat. Clear ones always look nice. Remember to measure before buying!

For those who are more visually oriented (right-brained!) and prefer to have things out, trays are great for corralling pieces and keeping surfaces from looking like a cluttered mess.

Another option is to hang them on a jewelry tree, which makes for a lovely display.

Last but not least, a fun idea is to keep them in pretty vintage cups. Look for ones with a wide enough mouth to fit the width of your pieces.

Hope this post inspired some ideas for your own home!

Casual Necklace Displays

Beautiful necklaces casually hung on a frame…

…or on a mirror…

…become artful displays to be enjoyed.  A nice alternative to keeping them hidden away in closed storage.

DIY Jewelry Bust

Busts are such a great way to creatively store and display necklaces.  I’m absolutely loving this DIY one made out of wood:
