Insert Size Guide
For a luxurious and full looking pillow, choose inserts that are 1 to 3 inches larger than the cover that you'll be using. Usually the larger the cover, the greater the difference between the cover and insert that's required for a full look. Our most popular pillow cover size is 20x20 and we recommend using 22x22 inserts for those. If you're not sure what size your cover is, use our measuring guide.
These are our general recommendations for what size insert to use for each size pillow cover:
SQUARE
16x16 cover - 17x17 insert
17x17 cover - 18x18 insert
18x18 cover - 20x20 insert
19x19 cover - 21x21 insert
20x20 cover - 22x22 insert
21x21 cover - 23x23 insert
22x22 cover - 24x24 insert
23x23 cover - 25x25 or 26x26 insert (the larger size typically works better for thicker fabrics)
24x24 cover - 26x26 or 27x27 insert (the larger size typically works better for thicker fabrics)
25x25 cover - 27x27 or 28x28 insert (the larger size typically works better for thicker fabrics)
26x26 cover - 28x28 or 29x29 insert (the larger size typically works better for thicker fabrics)

11x17 cover - 12x18 insert
11x19 cover - 12x20 insert

We recommend using feather-down blend inserts whenever possible. If allergies are a concern, alternative down blend inserts are the next best option.
